    Joseph Bentley

    Founder and Managing Director

    Joseph founded ACT Medical after two of his friends were stabbed in London. As Managing Director, he is responsible for the running of the business and its stakeholders. He was the first winner of the Global Medical James Dyson award, as well as a recipient of the RAEng 1851 Enterprise Fellowship. Joseph holds a Bachelor’s in Product Design and Technology from the University of Loughborough.

    Emma Priestley

    Head of Product

    Emma is responsible for the strategy and execution of all product related activities within ACT Medical. She oversees every element of the product from design to launch and beyond, whilst ensuring it delivers value to both customers and business. Prior to joining ACT, Emma has worked as a mechanical engineer at multiple technology consultancies. Emma holds a Master’s in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Bath.

    Nathan Wenban

    Head of Technology

    Nathan oversees the Quality Management of the product development process and is in charge of Risk Management. He has previously worked as a Mechanical Engineer at TTP plc. Nathan earnt a Master’s in General Engineering from the University of Sheffield.

    Nicky Johnson

    Clinical Lead

    Nicky leads ACT Medical’s clinical evaluation strategy and execution. She is an experienced clinical researcher in NHS Hospitals and Universities. Nicky has led Class III medical device trials for Heart transplant devices. She also spent 9 years as a Nurse in the British Army, where she gained a key understanding of treatment for penetrating wounds.

    Malcolm Nason

    Head of Strategy

    Malcolm is an innovative medical strategist and couples deep scientific understanding with brand and commercial needs. He controls the clinical insight process at ACT Medical and is our US Regulatory expert. Malcolm has a Ph.D. in Neurobiology from the University of Chicago, and an MBA in Strategy and Innovation from Penn State University.
